This 3-day Marrakech to Fes desert adventure kicks off with a scenic drive through the majestic Atlas Mountains, culminating at the renowned Tizi n’Tichka Pass. En route, we’ll make stops in traditional Berber villages, offering you a glimpse into local life and the breathtaking mountain scenery. A highlight of the day is a visit to Ait Benhaddou, an awe-inspiring UNESCO World Heritage Kasbah that has graced many Hollywood films. After exploring this iconic site, we’ll continue towards the Dades Valley, aptly nicknamed the “Valley of a Thousand Kasbahs.”

Our journey will take us through El Kelaa M’Gouna, a charming town nestled in the Valley of the Roses, famed for its annual rose festival and its fragrant Damascus rose production. If you’re traveling during the spring harvest (April to May), we’ll have the chance to visit an artisanal rose water distillery. We then proceed to the Dades Valley, where we’ll spend the night at a charming hotel, enjoying a delicious traditional Moroccan dinner to conclude the day.

Day 2 : Boumalne Dades → Tinghir → Merzouga → Sahara Desert

Day two of our Marrakech to Fes desert adventure begins with a delicious breakfast. We then journey through the scenic Dades Valley, winding our way towards the oasis town of Tinghir. In Tinghir, we’ll embark on a guided walk through a breathtaking oasis, where lush palm groves and the gentle murmur of irrigation channels create a tranquil atmosphere. Our local guide will share insights into the town’s history, including its fascinating Jewish heritage, evident in the old Tinghir Kasbah.

Next, we’ll venture to the dramatic Todra Gorge, where towering cliffs create a breathtaking natural spectacle. We’ll enjoy a leisurely stroll through the gorge, admiring the stunning rock formations and the crystal-clear Todra River. This is the perfect setting for capturing unforgettable photos and simply soaking in the beauty of the surroundings.

In the afternoon, we’ll arrive in Merzouga, the gateway to the Sahara Desert. Here, we’ll embark on a magical camel trek across the golden Erg Chebbi dunes. As the sun sets, painting the desert in hues of gold and fiery orange, we’ll reach our desert camp. We’ll savor a traditional Moroccan dinner, accompanied by live Berber music around the campfire, creating an unforgettable evening under the starry Saharan sky.

Stop for lunch in Midelt, a charming town nestled in the Atlas Mountains, and savor authentic Moroccan cuisine. Visit the Berber village of Azrou, home to ancient cedar forests and playful Barbary apes. Enjoy a unique encounter with these fascinating creatures. Experience the alpine charm of Ifrane, often called “the Switzerland of Morocco.” Take a short break to enjoy the scenery and have a coffee.
