Upon your arrival in Fes, we will greet you and escort you directly to your riad in the heart of the old medina, where you can unwind and get settled.
DAY 2: Fes Sightseeing
Your journey through Morocco begins with a full day exploring Fes, the country’s intellectual and spiritual hub. This historic city is home to numerous mosques and madrasas, including the renowned Karaouine University, founded in the 9th century, which showcases architectural influences reminiscent of Moorish Spain. During our visit, we will admire the exquisite mosaics and intricate wood carvings of Madrasa Bou Inania, a stunning 14th-century complex featuring a graceful minaret that towers over Talaa Kebira.
We will also explore the renowned medina, one of the largest in the world. As we navigate the winding streets of the souk, we’ll encounter countless artisans working in their small shops, which open directly onto the narrow alleyways. Bustling, aromatic, warm, and immersive, the medina of Fes offers a truly unique sensory experience. To conclude our tour of Fes, our guide will lead us to the Jewish Quarter (the Mellah), the Royal Palace, and a scenic viewpoint overlooking the vibrant souks of the medina.
DAY 3: Fes – Volubilis – Moulay Idriss – Meknes – Rif Mountains – Chefchaouen
After breakfast, head to the ancient Roman ruins of Volubilis, a UNESCO site and the best-preserved Roman ruins in North Africa, known for its stunning mosaics. Next, continue to Meknes, a historic imperial city often called the “Versailles of Morocco” for its grand architecture.
Explore Meknes’ highlights, including Bab Mansour, Sahrij Souani, and the old Medina. After lunch, journey to Chefchaouen, ascending through the scenic Rif Mountains. Arriving in the blue-washed town, settle into your Riad before strolling through the medina’s vibrant streets and markets.
In the evening, enjoy a traditional Tagine on a rooftop terrace, soaking in the serene mountain views under the starry Moroccan sky.
DAY 4: Chefchaouen sightseeing – Optional trip to Akchour waterfalls
After breakfast, you will explore this charming blue-washed town, a true hidden gem nestled in the mountains and a must-visit destination in Morocco. As you stroll through the local markets, you’ll discover the distinctive products of the Moroccan highlands. If you’re up for it, you can embark on an incredible four-hour trek to the Akchour waterfalls. In the afternoon, take some time to unwind and soak in the peaceful ambiance of the Rif Mountains.
DAY 5: Chefchaouen – Asilah – Rabat
On our journey, we will stop in Asilah, a charming seaside town known for its whitewashed houses, blue doors and walls, and vibrant murals. We will then continue to Rabat, the imperial capital, where we will explore the Mechouar— the fortified walls surrounding the Royal Palace— along with the impressive Mohammed V Mausoleum, the towering Hassan Tower, and the Kasbah des Oudayas. This historic fortress overlooks the Atlantic Ocean, offering stunning views and housing numerous Moroccan artisan workshops.
DAY 6: Rabat – Casablanca – Marrakech

Here, we will also gain insight into Casablanca’s significant role in Morocco’s history over the centuries.
In the early afternoon, we will embark on a four-hour journey to Marrakech. Upon arrival in the evening, there will be an opportunity to stroll through the iconic Djemaa el Fna Square, the vibrant heart of the city. Its name, meaning “Place of Death,” originates from the time when Sultans displayed the heads of their enemies. Today, the square is alive with food vendors, snake charmers, street musicians, and acrobats, offering entertainment for both locals and visitors from around the world.
DAY 7: Marrakech Guided Tour
In the morning, after breakfast, we will embark on a guided tour of Marrakech, often referred to as the “Southern Pearl” of Morocco. For centuries, this city has been a key stop for traders and travelers alike. Our exploration will take us to the stunning Bahia Palace and the historic 16th-century Saadian Tombs.
You’ll have some free time to enjoy lunch and visit the iconic Koutoubia Mosque, whose towering 77-meter minaret dominates the city’s skyline. You can also stroll through the narrow, winding alleyways of the old medina, immersing yourself in its vibrant atmosphere.
Later, we will head to the famous Djemaa el Fna Square, where you can test your bargaining skills with local vendors or relax with a glass of freshly squeezed orange juice on a rooftop terrace overlooking the bustling scene. As night falls, the square transforms into an even more dynamic space, filled with food stalls and lively entertainment. We will spend the night in Marrakech.
DAY 8: Marrakech – Essaouira
In the morning, we’ll travel by bus from Marrakech to Essaouira, where we’ll take a brief tour to introduce you to this charming old Portuguese fishing port on the Atlantic coast. While the area has been settled since the 15th century, the current town was built around 1760 by Sidi Mohammed ben Abdullah, who established it as a base to suppress a revolt in Agadir.
Today, Essaouira is known for its laid-back atmosphere. The whitewashed buildings with colorful shutters, artisan workshops, boatyards, and active fishing community offer a stark contrast to the bustling energy of Marrakech. In the afternoon, you’ll have ample time to explore at your leisure—whether you want to shop, take a stroll or camel ride along the beach, walk the ramparts and harbor to view the local catch, or even embark on a boat trip to the historic island of Mogador in the bay. We’ll spend the night in comfortable accommodations in Essaouira.

In Marrakech, you will have ample free time for some last-minute shopping or perhaps enjoy a Calèche ride (a bright green horse-drawn carriage) to the Majorelle Gardens, known for its indigo blue décor and small Islamic art museum. To end your Moroccan adventure, you may wish to indulge in a relaxing experience at a local hammam, a traditional steam bath. We will spend the night at our hotel in Marrakech.
